Flash Flaming Services
CEI:AgER provides flash flaming as a commercial service using its Seed Flamer technology patented in Australia and the USA and patent pending in Canada.
If you are interested in seed treatment or treated seeds, contact us for a quote.
The Seed Flamer works by repeatedly exposing seeds to a flame for short periods under a strict set of species-specific conditions. Proven benefits include:
Precision removal of unwanted appendages (hairs, awns, lobes)
Improved flow properties enabling mechanical seed delivery
Increased bulk density (decreased storage volume)
No decrease in germination potential, with some species showing benefits
To date Flash Flaming has been proven to work on over 20 restoration target species native to the Pilbara and Southwest regions of Western Australia. The table below shows the commercial status of the seeds we currently work with.
CEI:AgER can also conduct feasibility studies on new species which may benefit from the flash flaming process.
If you want seed treated, or are after treated seeds, please contact us for a quote. If your target species is not on our list, please contact us to discuss your research requirements with us or our international collaborators.
